Cal Ola was born and raised in Berlin. Since a young age he has been engaged in Art and experienced an education in Painting and Graphic Arts. After graduating from school he pursued filmmaking, shooting little films with friends and  working as a videographer. 2017 he started to work in the lighting Department in Germany. As a junior Spark he worked on german TV and Film sets. Cal Ola now has been living in the UK since 2020. In the UK he has gained more experience as a qualified Spark working on Film, Cinema, TV and Documentaries.

2023 Cal Ola started a masters degree at the prestigious National Film and Television School (NFTS) as a cinematographer and graduated 2025. He has worked on an extraordinary palette of short films and shot his debut feature as a cinematographer in the autumn of 2024. Nevertheless he continues to shoot music videos and commercials as well.

Cal Ola is based in both London and Berlin, occasionally works in Hamburg and loves to travel. Outside of Film he is a focused rock climber and loves playing table tennis and badminton. Mainly he loves being outside at the fresh air.
